Dr. Sofia Koulocheri obtained her B.Sc. in chemistry from the University of Patras (Greece) in 1994. She attended as DEA (Diplôme d’ Études Approfondies) student at the "Institut Νational Polytechnique de Toulouse - École Nationale Supérieure de Chimie" in France. In 1995, she joined the group of Prof. S. Haroutounian at the Agricultural University of Athens to pursue her PhD on Organic Synthesis and in particular on the synthesis of new molecules with pharmaceutical / biological / agricultural interest. In 2002, she was appointed as Chemist at the Agricultural University of Athens, Department of Sciences - Chemistry Laboratory (2002–2013) & Department of Nutritional Physiology and Feeding, Faculty of Animal Sciences and Aquaculture (2013 to date). In 2014, she was appointed as Laboratory Teaching Staff (E.DI.P.).
Dr. Sofia Koulocheri is teaching undergraduate theoretical and laboratory courses in Inorganic and Organic Chemistry and Analytical Toxicology & Xenobiotics to the students of the Faculty of Animal Sciences. Her research interests include the application of Organic and Analytical Chemistry to the development and study of molecules with interesting biological activities and potential applications to health (human or animal) and the agriculture. She is the author of 25 scientific publications, consisting of 20 papers in international scientific journals, one review, 2 monographs and one thesis.
