Aim of the Department of Animal Breeding and Husbandry is to:

•  provide the students at the degree and postgraduate level theoretical and practical education in the subject that is related to:

a) the breeding of farm animals and poultry for the production of safe food stuff for the consumer,

b) the quality of the produced animal products,

c) the animal production systems,

d) the farm animal ethology,

e) the physiology of productive traits (development, reproduction, milk production)

f) the genetics and animal genetic improvement (cattle, ovine, pigs, birds, rabbits etc) and

g) the gene technology.

•  produce basic and applied scientific knowledge through research which is conducted by the postgraduate and doctoral theses students as well as from the staff research activities in the Lab.
