The main aim of the Department of Nutritional Physiology and Feeding is the promotion of scientific knowledge on animal nutrition, implemented with:

  • Production of basic scientific knowledge through research,
  • Application of the knowledge of nutrition and transfer of innovative technology in feedstuffs processing practise
  • Consulting on nutrition and nutrition policy in relation to the chemical composition, quality of livestock products (milk, meat, eggs) and protection of the consumers’ health.
  • Promotion and dissemination of applied scientific knowledge on nutrition and feeding of farmed animals, such as ruminants (cows, sheep, goats), monogastric herbivores (equines, rabbits), monogastric omnivores (pigs, poultry) and others, inorder to optimize the production of food suitable for the promotion of human health
  • Education of scientists involved, directly or indirectly in animal nutrition and feeding on theoretical and applied topics
  • Teaching and training the undergraduate and postgraduate students of the University on subjects related to animal nutrition
