Quality Policy
The Department of Animal Science (DAS) aligns its Quality Policy with the Institution’s overall strategy, aiming to ensure and continuously improve the quality of studies, teaching, and research, in collaboration with the Quality Assurance Unit (MODIP).
The Department’s strategic objectives focus on:
- achieving high learning outcomes in accordance with national and European qualification frameworks,
- integrating innovative and student-centered teaching practices,
- strengthening links with society, the labor market, and scientific research, and
- promoting an international dimension through partnerships, mobility, and quality standards.
The operation of the Department of Animal Science is founded on the principles of legality, transparency, collectivity, and social responsibility, fostering the participation of all its members and promoting interaction with social and productive stakeholders.
The Department’s quality assurance procedures include:
- the definition and monitoring of quantitative and qualitative objectives (target-setting),
- the rational management of available human, financial, and material resources to support its educational, research, and administrative activities,
- the annual review and internal evaluation in collaboration with the Internal Evaluation Group (OMEA) and MODIP, as well as the collection and analysis of quality data through the University’s information systems and questionnaires,
- the publication of updated information on the Department’s website concerning studies and research, presented objectively and accurately in both Greek and English, thereby enhancing accessibility and stakeholder trust, and
- the participation in external evaluations conducted by the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE), in accordance with the legislative framework.
Overall, the Department’s quality assurance procedures: a) establish a system of continuous improvement and a culture of quality at all levels of operation, b) ensure consistency between strategy, policy, and everyday practice, c) guarantee participation and transparency in decision-making, and d) promote academic integrity, alignment with European standards, and the formation of high-caliber graduates with modern qualifications and social awareness.
