The Laboratory of Anatomy & Physiology of Farm Animals is engaged in teaching and research activities related to Anatomy, Histology–Embryology, Physiology, Cell Biology, Microbiology, Animal Health, as well as Public Health.
The laboratory is located on the 1st floor of the I. Dimakopoulos Building at the Athens Campus (75 Iera Odos Street, Votanikos, 118 55). It is directed by Professor John Ikonomopoulos and hosts six (6) members of the Teaching and Research Staff, one (1) member of the Laboratory Teaching Staff (EDIP), and one (1) member of the Special Technical Laboratory Staff (ETEP). The members of the Laboratory participate in national and international research programs, while also supporting the agricultural sector in Greece by providing expertise and services related to the management and hygiene of livestock farms, the diagnosis and control of diseases at farm level, as well as the safeguarding of the health and welfare of farm animals.
