The Laboratory of Nutritional Physiology & Feeding is engaged in teaching and research activities related to Animal Feedstuffs and Feed Manufacturing Technology, Grassland Management, Nutritional Physiology, Applied Nutrition, Applications of Biotechnology in Nutrition, Nutrition and Circular Economy, as well as the Chemistry of Natural and Synthetic Bioactive Products in the nutrition of primarily productive animals.
The laboratory is located on the 1st floor of the I. Dimakopoulos Building at the Athens Campus (75 Iera Odos Street, Votanikos, 118 55). It is directed by Professor Konstantinos Mountzouris and is staffed by nine (9) faculty members, two (2) members of the Laboratory Teaching Staff (EDIP), and one (1) member of the Special Technical Laboratory Staff (ETEP). The members of the Laboratory participate in national and international research projects, while also supporting the agricultural sector in Greece by providing expertise and services in the scientific fields covered by the Laboratory.

The Research Activity of the Laboratory of Nutritional Physiology & Feeding is focused on:
To achieve the above, the Laboratory attends closely the ongoing international developments in science and technology on Animal Nutrition. In order to ensure the quality of the research, the Department constantly updates all kinds of teaching and research material and equipment (books, journals, magazines, computers, software, analytical techniques, analytical devices, scientific instruments, etc.).
Finally, the Laboratory is working closely with public and private institutions (Ministry of Rural Development and Food, Research Institutions, prefectural and local administration, industries, businesses, corporations, private producers, etc.), so as to address and solve various theoretical and practical problems, thus maintaining an essentially creative and fruitful relationship between University and productive society.
