Απόφοιτος του Τμήματος Ζωικής Παραγωγής και Υδατοκαλλιεργειών του Γεωπονικού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών (2002). Κάτοχος διπλώματος από το Μεταπτυχιακό Πρόγραμμα Ειδίκευσης «Ζωική Παραγωγή» (Γ.Π.Α., 2003), και Διδάκτορας Γεωπονικών Επιστημών (Γ.Π.Α., 2008). Πραγματοποίησε Μεταδιδακτορική Έρευνα στο RWTH Aachen University (Aachen, Germany), στο ΕΚΕΒΕ «Αλέξανδρος Φλέμιγκ» και στο Γ.Π.Α. Συνεργάστηκε ως επισκέπτης ερευνητής στο Centre for Genomic Regulation (Barcelona, Spain) και στο Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine (Berlin, Germany).
