Ερευνητική Δραστηριότητα

Ερευνητικοί Τομείς

Η ερευνητική δραστηριότητα του εργαστηρίου είναι ευρεία και εστιάζει στους ακόλουθους τομείς:

  • Στη συστηματική έρευνα της φυσιολογίας θρέψης των αγροτικών ζώων, όπως τα μηρυκαστικά (βοοειδή, πρόβατα, αίγες), τα φυτοφάγα μονογαστρικά (οπληφόρων, κουνέλια), τα παμφάγα μονογαστρικά (χοίροι, πουλερικά) και άλλα, σε συνδυασμό με την ανάπτυξη της Βιοτεχνολογίας και της Μοριακής Βιολογίας .

  • Στη μελέτη των ιδιοτήτων, της χημείας και της τεχνολογίας των διαφόρων ζωοτροφών

  • Στη λεπτομερή μελέτη των επιπτώσεων των θρεπτικών ουσιών στο μεταβολισμό και τις διάφορες φυσιολογικές λειτουργίες του σώματος του ζώου, έτσι ώστε να προστατεύεται η υγεία των ζώων και να βελτιστοποιούνται οι αποδόσεις τους.

  • Στη βελτίωση της ποιότητας των προϊόντων, μέσω συμπλήρωσης των σιτηρεσίων με βιοενεργές ουσίες (ωμέγα-3 λιπαρά οξέα, συζευγμένο λινολεϊκό οξύ-CLA, αντιοξειδωτικά, κλπ.), οι οποίες προάγουν την υγεία του ανθρώπου.

  • Στη μείωση της ρύπανσης του περιβάλλοντος που προκαλείται από την κτηνοτροφία (βιολογική γεωργία, της διαχείρισης των λειμώνων, τη μείωση των εκπομπών μεθανίου και απέκκριση των ορυκτών, όπως η Ν, Ρ, κλπ.).

  • Στη μελέτη των αλληλεπιδράσεων μεταξύ γονιδίων και θρεπτικών συστατικών.

  • Στην προώθηση, διάδοση και εφαρμογή της επιστημονικής γνώσης για τη βελτιστοποίηση της αποτελεσματικότητας της διατροφής στην πράξη (μέσω της παροχής συμβουλών και εκπαίδευσης των ανθρώπων, που εμπλέκονται άμεσα ή έμμεσα με τη διατροφή των ζώων).

  • Στην αποσαφήνιση των αλληλεπιδράσεων μεταξύ εντερικής λειτουργίας, υγείας και αποδόσεων των ζώων

Για την διασφάλιση της ποιότητας της έρευνας το προσωπικό του Εργαστηρίου παρακολουθεί συστηματικά και εκ του πλησίον τις συνεχείς διεθνείς εξελίξεις στους τομείς της Επιστήμης της Διατροφής και της Τεχνολογίας των ζωοτροφών με συμμετοχή του σε Επιστημονικά Συνέδρια, Διεθνείς Εκδηλώσεις, Ευρωπαϊκά Προγράμματα Συνεργασίας σε θέματα διδασκαλίας και έρευνας, ομάδες εργασίας ή επιτροπές, εθνικές και διεθνείς που ασχολούνται με την επίλυση και προώθηση επίκαιρων και σημαντικών θεμάτων που άπτονται της Διατροφής. Ανανεώνει και εκσυγχρονίζει συνεχώς το πάσης φύσεως εκπαιδευτικό υλικό και ερευνητικό εξοπλισμό του (βιβλία, περιοδικά, Η/Υ, λογισμικό, αναλυτικές τεχνικές, αναλυτικές συσκευές, επιστημονικά όργανα κλπ).
