Our Impact

The Department of Animal Science since its foundation, has as fundamental objective the utilization of the progress made in science, in order to develop new and advanced products and services, the promotion of knowledge with research and teaching, thereby contributing to the graduation of qualified and responsible scientists. The contribution of the Department of Animal Science in the fields of industry, food, primary production and environment is significant. 

At the Academic Level we

  • Develop advanced interdisciplinary research topics
  • Collaborate with national, European and other educational and research institutions
  • Supervise the publication of high quality scientific articles, journals and books

At the Economic Level we

  • Implement research programs funded by national, European entities 
  • Provide research services to industries and services to other research teams, in a wide range of topics
  • Collaborate with industry to transfer technology and knowledge for future use

At the Social & Cultural Level we

  • Organize scientific conferences and seminars to disseminate knowledge to the society
  • Participate in counseling activities for academic studies
  • Participate in the vocational rehabilitation for pupils, students, young scientists and professionals
